Summer Road Trip Packing List
Summer is here, we’re vacationing again, everything feels correct and routine, and that can only mean one thing: it’s time for your summer road trip. But, regardless of where you go on your road trip, we have developed the perfect packing list of everything you need to stay healthy, hydrated, and happy all summer long.
Books.
This is no surprise, but books are the first (and most noteworthy) item on our packing list. Bring two or three to be safe if you’re going for a week. If you’re going for longer, increase that number each week. Then, when you’re riding shotgun and sick of staring at the windmills and corn fields in Kansas, pull out your book! You can also read to help you fall asleep at night when you can’t get comfortable in your hotel, tent, Airbnb, or whatever establishment you choose.
Playlist/Podcasts.
When the driver needs more conversation or sound, put your book down and throw on your fire playlist to get excited. After that, turn on a podcast or audiobook. Feel free to blast your true crime documentaries and spicy books if it's a girls' trip. If it’s a family vacation, lean for something more upbeat and kid-approved.
Water.
While you’re on the road, it’s essential to stay hydrated. This will help keep your mind sharp, your eyes working correctly, and your body feeling better after sitting for hours. When you must stop to go to the bathroom, you can also stretch and get a bite to eat; we call that a win-win.
Snacks.
Since you can’t stop to get a bite to eat all of the time, it’s important to have snacks on hand. We like to have a mixture of healthy and non-healthy snacks because you never know what mood you’ll be in.
Emergency kit.
You should always have an emergency kit in your car filled with a first aid kit, tool kit, jumper cables, a flashlight, phone charger, and other necessities. We like to include different articles for each season as a bonus. In winter, for example, bring blankets, jackets, gloves, and hats; and in summer, ensure you have extra water bottles, sunscreen, and a change of light clothes.
