Sarah MacLean was born in Rhode Island in 1978. While growing up, she slowly but surely discovered her passion for century-old romance and fiction. MacLean went on to receive a degree in European History from Smith College and later received a Masters in Education. After completing school at Harvard, she moved back to New York City and gave her all in pursuing her writing and publishing career. She currently resides in New York City with her husband and daughter. 

The writer of some well known “steamy” books, Sarah MacLean is a romance novelist who has been recognized by many for her take on historical romance. The majority of her written work is romantic novels based years and years ago. According to Harper Collins Publishing, “She is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of historical romances and a columnist for The Washington Post, where she writes about the romance genre.” Needless to say, Sarah MacLean is a very distinguished author writing in a very risque, specialized, and intriguing genre. According to The New Yorker, “Romance novelist Sarah MacLean has reignited the genre with a bolder edge."
