June’s Featured Author: Elin Hilderbrand

Elin Hilderbrand has written twenty-eight novels in her career and plans to write a few more novels over the next two years before she plans to retire in the summer of 2024. Hilderbrand writes mainly romance novels set on or around Nantucket Island, where she currently lives with her husband and three children.

She graduated from John Hopkins University in 1991, where she majored in Writing Seminars. Her first short story, Misdirection, was published in Seventeen Magazine during her senior year of college. After graduating, she spent a short time working in the publishing industry and teaching in New York City before moving to Nantucket and following her lifelong passion for writing.

Most of her novels are about summertime in Nantucket, although she has a few winter titles and a series about paradise.

When she is not writing, she loves riding her Peloton, pursuing her ambitions as a book influencer, and cooking - she has her own Instagram account and a cooking channel dedicated to it, follow the Cringe Cooking Show to see! Hilderbrand is a strong woman and is a seven-year breast cancer survivor.

If you’ve signed up for our Surprise Me category, you’ll receive Hilderbrand’s novel, 28 Summers, this June. This novel has been called “captivating and bittersweet” by People magazine and details the romance and agony a 28-year affair places on all involved, especially the woman dying and the man she’s loved for most of her life. While there is turmoil, drama, and a political scandal, this romance novel is “superb.”
