International bestselling author, Wendy Walker, is well known among fans of psychological thrillers for her award-winning novels that never fail to impress. This month, BookCase.Club has chosen Wendy Walker as our featured author! With her deep characters and twisting storylines, we can’t wait to learn more about Walker’s background and writing methods.

Wendy Walker didn’t originally have plans to become a writer. In fact, her interest in math and economics while in high school led her down a path towards investment banking. After attending Brown University and working as an analyst for a couple of years, Walker went to Georgetown Law School and began a career as a family law attorney with a focus on child advocacy. Once she married and had children, Walker became a stay-at-home-mom, which is when the idea of writing a novel first entered her mind.

All four of Walker’s award-winning novels are psychological suspense thrillers that are full of unexpected twists and turns. Among her written works are All Is Not Forgotten, Emma In the Night, The Night Before, and Don’t Look For Me. She cites her past experiences working as a family law attorney and her knowledge of psychology and trauma as a source of inspiration for her novels. Her ability to create intricate characters with relatable emotions comes from her past work, as well.

When asked about what she believes makes a story the most enticing, Walker answered that it’s all about creating the perfect balance between good character development and forward action of the storyline. She aims to keep the reader on the edge of their seat by including twists and turns that force them to become engrossed with the book and eager to find out what happens next. She further explains that strong character development involves creating a solid backstory so that the characters’ emotions deepen the plot.

Wendy Walker’s novels have been translated into 23 foreign languages and topped charts all over the world. If you’re interested in reading one of her suspenseful thrillers, you’re in luck!
