Harry Potter is Turning 40 Years Old - Feel Old Yet?
If you are a bookworm, it is easy to assume you have read all of the Harry Potter books. Well, the beloved fictitious protagonist, Harry Potter, has a birthday coming up on July 31st. Potter was born in 1980, so this makes him a 40-year old man today. Potter has hit his mid-life crisis and we can only imagine what that means as a wizard.
So how can you celebrate this icon’s birthday you might ask? Well for one, get to reading. Start from the beginning and feel the nostalgia of the historic series written by J.K. Rowling. If you want an easy and entertaining read, the Harry Potter series is a great choice because there is so much detail to the wizarding world that it will feel like you’re reading it again for the first time.
Another way to celebrate is to sip on the famous Butterbeer. This delicious drink is a popular wizarding beverage described as tasting “a little bit like less-sickly butterscotch.” You can look up recipes online or ask the barista at Starbucks, very nicely, to create a butterscotch frappuccino.
Another way to celebrate Harry’s birthday is to take that Hogwarts House quiz just one more time to make sure you have your answer ready when any millennial asks what house you’re in. You can find hundreds of quizzes online if you just google asking what Harry Potter house you’re in.
Finally, the last way you can really celebrate this momentous birthday is to rewatch all eight movies. Grab some popcorn, a blanket, a phone charger, and prepare yourself to not really leave your house for an entire weekend. We are still staying at home, might as well watch Harry Potter come alive in your living room.
