April’s Featured Author: Tracey Garvis Graves
This month, BookCase.Club has decided to spotlight Tracey Garvis Graves as our featured author for the month of April! As a New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestseller, Graves is currently the author of nine books and has no plans of stopping soon. She primarily writes contemporary, fiction novels with elements of romance, as can be clearly seen in her two bestsellers, On the Island and Covet.
Tracey Graves got her start in writing a little bit later in life. While she had always been passionate about reading, it wasn’t until both of her kids were in school and she had gone back to work that she began seriously considering it as a career. Graves recalls that she would wake up an hour and a half early to write, before getting ready and starting her day job. Eighteen months later, she had finished her first novel, which would go on to spend 9 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list and is currently being developed into a feature film.
While she often writes contemporary romance novels, Graves states that her ultimate goal when writing is to get to the heart of the matter, whether it's a couple’s relationship issues or some outside force. As a result, most of her works are equally emotional and relatable.
The Girl He Used to Know, one of the two books in our “Booking for Love” category this month, is a fan-favorite. This novel follows the story of Annika Rose and Jonathan, who reconnect after first meeting in college in 1991. Annika is on the Autism spectrum and sometimes struggles in social situations. Jonathan, however, sees her in a different light than everyone else which is what allows this powerful love story to unfold.
